Bocca Editors Catalogue
From 1775, the year of its foundation, to 1955,
the year of the end of its activity, the publishing
house Fratelli Bocca Editori produced more than 1000
volumes concerning a wide range of subjects: from
history to literature, from music to science,
from art to pedagogy, and also esoterism,
psychology, philosophy - the oriental type in
particular - 10 reviews and an economic series.
Titles and authors are contained in the volume
Editoria e Arte a Milano and in the
catalogue of Bocca
editions of 1953, which is available in
photocopies on request. In 1980 the work
starts again under the name of
Libreria Bocca
editor. On this occasion the
Introvabili series was inaugurated
with the publishing of I Sonetti
di Pico della Mirandola, a hand-printed
volume by Martino Mardersteig, with an
Enrico Baj original graphic. From 1996,
year of foundation of Bocca Editori srl
in Rome, the activity turns to high
collectionism collectabillity and produces
annotated catalogues about great painters
of the past, like Marieschi. Other catalogues
concern famous porcelain artists, like
Giovanni Vezzi, or even master glaziers from
Murano, such as Murano 900. The publishing
house also creates catalogues of art
exhibitions, organised by either local
institutions, or antiquarians or international
level galleries.
